Hosting a Workshop for 30 to 45 People in Downtown Richmond

Finding a room for a workshop is harder than it should be. Hotel function rooms can feel cold and expensive, coffee shops are too noisy, and your own office is probably too small. If you're planning something for 30 to 45 people in Richmond, here's what our Yellow Room offers and how to plan a good day in it.

The room

The Yellow Room is the largest room at Holistic Life Studios, on East Main Street in downtown Richmond. It has big street-side windows, exposed brick and original art from Richmond artists on the walls. It seats about 30, or holds about 45 standing.

What's included

• Chairs for about 30, arranged the way you want them
• A large TV for slides and video
• A 180-degree camera that shows the whole room, so people can join online
• A wet bar room next door for coffee and refreshments
• Natural light, which makes a long day much easier on everyone

What people use it for

Workshops and trainings, board and team meetings, hybrid meetings and webinars, talks and book launches, and support groups and community circles. Our own art openings happen here too.

What it costs

The Yellow Room is $75 an hour. Longer bookings cost less: 15% off when you book 4 hours or more, and 25% off for a full 8-hour day. You book online and pay when you book, so there are no quotes to chase.

Planning tips for the day

• Book setup time. Add half an hour before you start to arrange chairs, test the screen and put the coffee on.
• Test the hybrid setup. If people are joining online, do a quick call with a colleague before guests arrive.
• Plan breaks around the wet bar. A short break every hour or so keeps energy up, and the room next door means refreshments don't interrupt the session.
• Tell guests how to get here. We're at 1011 East Main Street, Suite 310. There are paid garages and meters nearby, and street parking is free after 6 PM.
• Need a breakout space? Our Purple Room seats ten and can be booked alongside.
